John Lennon made a controversial statement saying that the Beatles were “more popular than Jesus.”
列侬的原话是:
"Christianity will go," Lennon said. "It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue about that. I'm right and I'll be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now. I don't know which will go first, rock 'n' roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for me."
Today is a lot of "days."
Toy Soldier Day – I wish every soldier in the world was made of wood, equipped with toy guns only.
World Day of Prayer (first Friday of March) – I pray for every innocent life on both sides of the battlefield. No one deserves death for the benefit of the politicians.
National Day of Unplugging – I wish God could unplug the power supply to all the tanks, missiles, and machine guns.
Let all the wars stop;
Let everyone stop killing;
Let warmongers fist fight each other if they must, or bite each to the bone if they like;
Let all the soldiers, sons of the farmers, go home.

William Carlos Williams, American poet, died at age 79.
Peace on Earth
By William Carlos Williams
The Archer is wake!
The Swan is flying!
Gold against blue
An Arrow is lying.
There is hunting in heaven—
Sleep safe till tomorrow.
The Bears are abroad!
The Eagle is screaming!
Gold against blue
Their eyes are gleaming!
Sleep!
Sleep safe till tomorrow.
The Sisters lie
With their arms intertwining;
Gold against blue
Their hair is shining!
The Serpent writhes!
Orion is listening!
Gold against blue
His sword is glistening!
Sleep!
There is hunting in heaven—
Sleep safe till tomorrow.
