American fast food restaurant chain "KFC" [Kentucky Fried Chicken] was founded by Colonel Harland Sanders in North Corbin, Kentucky.

Today is the International Day of Happiness.  It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012.

That’s maybe one of the few things the UN can do, I mean, asking people to be happy...
Today is World Storytelling Day.
We all like stories - children love being told stories by their parents before sleep; adults enjoy reading novels.
The first story I remember from childhood was Ali Baba and 40 thieves, a folk tale from the One Thousand and One Nights.

For people in many countries, especially Africa and Latin America, the name Ali Baba equals a thief.
I don't know why but it was what my foreign coworkers used to say. When something was missing, they would shake their heads and say, “ah, Ali Baba.”, meaning “someone has stolen it.”
What was the first story you were told when you were little?
