Today - Apr 24 没有永远的朋友,只有永恒的 Robinson Crusoe.

Apr 24, 1895
Joshua Slocum, the Canadian-American seaman and adventurer began his voyage around the world from Boston, USA.
He had sailed 46,000 miles (74,000 km) in three years, two months, and two days.

He was the first person to sail single-handedly around the world.
In 1900 he wrote a book about his journey, "Sailing Alone Around the World", which became a sea travel classic.
I had resolved on a voyage around the world, and as thewind on the morning of April 24, 1895 was fair, at noon I weighed anchor, setsail, and filled away from Boston, where the Spray had been moored snugly allwinter. The twelve o'clock whistles were blowing just as the sloop shot aheadunder full sail. A short board was made up the harbor on the port tack, thencoming about she stood to seaward, with her boom well off to port, and swungpast the ferries with lively heels. A photographer on the outer pier of EastBoston got a picture of her as she swept by, her flag at the peak throwing herfolds clear. A thrilling pulse beat high in me. My step was light on deck inthe crisp air. I felt there could be no turning back, and that I was engagingin an adventure the meaning of which I thoroughly understood. (from the book “SailingAlone Around the World”)

Remember Thomas Stevens who cycled around the globe (Apr 22, 1884)?
Have you ever wondered why people want to travel around the world?
Have you ever had that dream yourself too?
If you have dreamed the same dream as them (me included), I encourage you to write it down on paper, or in your diary, keep it to yourself, until one day you’ve finally decided to leave everything behind and embark on your exciting journey around the earth.
That'll be your journey of life.
I wish I could wrap up the last chapter of this life on that journey of mine, together with my love.
Wherever there is freedom, love, and the ocean, there is home.
