It takes place on the 15th day of the 7thlunar month. This year, it falls on August 12.
At dusk, people traditionally put out food for the
ghosts of their deceased ancestors and kowtow in awe.
It’s a beautiful and ancient festival tradition, but not a
good time to be alone out at night.
