International Music Day
Believe it or not, though sounds casual, International Music Day is a quite formal date promoted by UNESCO (the International Music Council,) which in 1974 announced Oct 1 as the day to appreciate the power of music.

E.B. White, the American writer and contributing editor to the New Yorker magazine, died at age 86.

Mr. White is one of my favorite modern American writers. I have benefited tremendously from the great book he co-authored “The Elements of Style.”
