A simple history of Noodles
Noodles were invented in China in 2000 BC.
Thanks to the Arab traders and the legendary Italian explorer Marco Polo, this ancient Chinese food became popular in Europe in the 1200s.
In 1789, Thomas Jefferson brought pasta from Europe to the U.S.
In 1958, Taiwanese-Japanese businessman Ando Momofuko（安藤百福） invented instant noodles in Japan.
我自小不爱面食，但近二年忽然爱上了noodles，各国各种面条都喜欢。
前不久在茑屋书店看到一本日本人写的关于中国各地面条的书，次日再去买时，下架了。

Tennyson was the Poet Laureate during much of Queen Victoria's reign.
Poet Laureate（桂冠诗人）有点像英国皇家御用诗人的意思，类似李白在唐明皇时期的角色，毕竟这位号称桀骜不驯的天才大诗人也曾写下过“云想衣裳花想容，春风拂槛露华浓”这样的献媚诗，历来被认为是中国诗词中拍马屁的巅峰之作。
这首诗尽管起源不怎么高尚，也比千年后的那位郭姓御用诗人高多了。
