Changes 改变 (2)
When you put on different clothes, you change your clothes. When you remove a baby’s dirty diaper and put on a clean one, you change the baby’s diaper. When you reverse a decision or opinion, then you change your mind. And when you introduce a different topic of conversation, then you change the subject. When you change your religion, then we often use the verb convert – I converted to Christianity; my brother wants to convert to Islam. 当你穿上不同的衣服，你会换掉你的衣服。当你脱下婴儿的脏尿布，换上干净的，你就给婴儿换了尿布。当你彻底改变了你的想法或观点，那么你就改变了你的想法。当你引入一个不同的话题时，你就转移了话题。当你改变你的宗教时，我们经常使用动词convert转变–我变成了基督教；我的兄弟想转伊斯兰教。
Other verbs used for changes are “turn,” “become,” and “get.” Let’s look at their different collocations. 其他用于表示变化的动词有“turn”、“become”和“get”。我们来看看它们不同的固定搭配。
Use turn with colors（用turn来和颜色搭配）:
Bananas turn black if you put them in the refrigerator.
香蕉放进冰箱会变黑。
You can also use turn into as a less formal expression for “transform into”: （你也可以用turn into作为“transform into”的口语化表达）：
Our living room couch turns into a bed.
我们的客厅沙发变成了床。
Use become with emotions and states of being, including comparative adjectives: （用become与情感和状态连用，包括形容词比较级）：
My sister became angry when she found out I’d broken her computer.
我妹妹发现我把她的电脑弄坏了，她变得很生气。
It’s becoming apparent/clear that the treatment isn’t working.
情况变得越来越明显，这种治疗方法不起作用。
The band’s music became popular among teenagers.
这个乐队的音乐在青少年中变得很流行。
It’s becoming more difficult to separate one’s personal and professional life. 把这个人的私人生活和工作生活分开变得越来越困难。
