阶段。
🚩stage是指“活动、过程或时期的阶段，部分”，柯林斯解释为A stage of an activity, process, or period is one part of it.。
如：
The way children talk about or express their feelings depends on their age and stage of development.儿童谈论或表达自己感情的方式取决于他们的年龄和所处的发育阶段。
Mr Cook has arrived in Greece on the final stage of a tour which also included Egypt and Israel.库克先生在行程的最后一站来到了希腊，他此行还包括了埃及和以色列。
🚩phase是指“变化、发展的时期，阶段”，柯林斯解释为A phase is a particular stage in a process or in the gradual development of something.。它与stage的区别在于，phase总是指“有始有终的一段时间”，它可以作动词enter，go through，finish的宾语，介词during的宾语；也可作动词last的主语。Phase尤其用来表示一个项目的规划阶段或者人生情感的不同阶段。Stage除了上述用法，还可以表示一个较长时期的某个特定状态或者时刻，可以做介词at的宾语，phase不能。
如：
This autumn, 6000 residents will participate in the first phase of the project.今年秋天，将有6000名居民参加该项目的第一阶段。
The crisis is entering a crucial, critical phase.目前危机正进入决定性的关键阶段。
Most kids will go through a phase of being faddy about what they eat.大多数孩子都会经历挑食的阶段。

如：
He greeted the agreement as the first step towards peace.他称该协定是通向和平的第一步。
Aristotle took the scientific approach a step further.亚里士多德将该科学方法向前推进了一步。
