Xi’an
has been the capital for many dynasties which ruled China. It is very
old city and if you like History, Xi’an in the place you should visit.
Xi’an also has good night life. Local beers are cheap. After 7pm all the
bars are full. In India, the weekends are the time people go for
shopping mostly. But in Xi’an everyday in the evening, it looks like
weekend.
西安曾经是统治中国许多王朝的首都，是一个非常古老的城市，如果你喜欢历史，你应该去参观西安。西安也有美好的夜生活。当地啤酒很便宜。晚上7点以后所有的酒吧都是满座。在印度主要在周末人们才去逛街，但是在先每晚都像是周末。
I
visited 4 places in China. Xi’an, Chengdu, Wuhan and Shanghai. I
somehow feel China is very safe. There are literally cameras everywhere.
Every street and every turn have cameras. You can simply walk on the
streets even at late night. You will find Police on the streets.
我参观了中国的四个城市西安，成都，武汉，上海。我觉得中国很安全，导出都是摄像头，每个街道每个角落拐弯处都有摄像头。即使在深夜，你也可以不需要准备防身的装备上街。在街上可以看到警察。
I
also learnt that there is harsh punishment for crime against
foreigners. They treat foreigners really well. I did not find any hatred
for India or Indians. Not all hotels in China accept foreigners. There
are hotels where only Chinese people can stay. Don’t misunderstand this
as discrimination. China feels that only those hotels that are well
equipped should accept foreigners. For example, the hotel staff speaking
basic English, having continental food in the Menu, having western
Style toilets and following all safety measures.
我了解到的是，外国人在中国的犯罪，是会被严惩的。但是他们对待外国人也真的很好。我没有发现任何对印度或者对印度人的仇恨。
并不是所有酒店都接受外国人入驻。有些旅馆只有中国人才能住。不要误解，这不是歧视。他们认为，只有设备齐全的酒店才能接纳外国人（外宾）。例如，酒店工作人员会说基本的英语，可以供外国人点的菜单和西式马桶和其它一些安全措施。
That
doesn’t mean tourists are forced to stay in expensive hotels. You can
stay in Hostels too. Even those hostels should be well equipped to
handle foreign customers.
那也并不是意味着，游客要住贵的酒店，你可以可以住青旅/旅馆。但是青旅也要设备齐全，具备接待外国人的条件。
After
spending a week in Xi’an, I decided to go to Chengdu. I decided to
travel by Bullet Train. The distance between Xi’an and Chengdu is around
650 km and it took just 3 hours 25 minutes by high speed Train. This is
the best thing I’ve ever experienced. The train’s coaches were
excellent. The trains speed was fluctuating from 320 km per hour to 360
km per hour. If you place a glass of water near the window, it would
remain still.
在西安待了一周后，我决定去成都。我觉得做高铁，西安到成都大约650公里，花费3小时25分钟，这是我最好的铁路交通体验。火车车厢非常棒，速度在320km到360km之间，一杯水放在窗户附近，都不会晃动。
The
railway stations in China are really next level. They look like
Airports. The trains are on time and there are no delays. The high speed
bullet trains have separate railway stations. I personally felt flights
are cheaper than Trains in China. Chinese people use train very
extensively.
中国的火车站简直就是另外几个级别的，他们看上去像是机场。火车都是准点到达，不会迟到。高速子弹头列车有独立的火车站。我个人觉得在中国飞机票比火车票便宜。中国人更喜欢坐火车。

Even
Chengdu felt like the Capital of China. 😄 Every City I visited looked
like the capital. They all had next level infrastructure, Sky scrappers,
damn big wide roads, best hotels etc. Chengdu is also one of the
favorite vacation spot for Chinese people. You will find lot of Chinese
people from other parts of China, in Chengdu as visitors. It was
November and still I found many small kids roaming around with parents. I
asked people if it was vacation time and they say NO. But I wondered
why these kids did not go to school.
就连成都也感觉像是中国的首都。我参观的每一个城市看上去都像首都。他们的基础设施都是超高水平的。摩天大楼宽阔的马路，豪华的酒店等。成都也是中国人最喜欢的度假胜地之一。在成都你会发现其它地区的中国人也在这里游玩。我发现很多小孩子和父母一起。我问他们是不是假期，他们说不是，但是我想知道为什么这些孩子不上学？
I booked a hotel in Chengdu. It was a new hotel which was opened in 2023. The name is very hard to spell and pronounce.
我在成都预订了一个酒店，这是一家2023年新开的酒店，名字很难写也很难读。
The
hotel was excellent and this was the best hotel I stayed in my entire
trip. It was super clean and very advanced. There was something like
Alexa in the room which will talk to you. But only in Chinese. So I
stayed away from it though it had a beautiful girl’s voice.
这个酒店很棒，是我这趟旅行住过的最好的酒店，超级干净和高级。房间里有一个类似Alexa的东西，它会和你说话。但只能用中文。所以我用不上它，尽管它有一个漂亮女孩的声音。
I
forgot to mention about Robots in Chinese Hotels. Even in Xi’an, there
were 3 robots in reception. All were female with female voice and they
bring food to your room. This was really crazy. So, if you place food
order, the delivery guy will reach your hotel and place the food in the
belly of the robot. The Hotel management will enter few details and then
the robot goes to the elevator and without human intervention it will
bring the lift down using Wi-fi. It will go inside the lift and press
the floor number using Wi-fi. It will come to your room and ring the
door bell using Wi-Fi.
我忘记说中国酒店里的机器人了。在西安，接待处也有3个机器人。都是女性和女性的生意。她们给房间送餐，这太疯狂了。你点餐后，工作人员会把食物放进机器人的肚子里，工作人员会输入指令给机器人，然后在没有工作人员的干预下，机器人会，通过网络呼叫电梯，进入电梯并通过wifi选中要到达的楼层，然后到您的房间，通过网络按响您的门铃。
The
moment you open the door, it will greet you in both Chinese and
English. It will ask you to press the button on it’s belly to take the
food. Once you take it, it will again go back and park itself in the
Reception.
你打开门，它就会用中英文双语和你打招呼。并要你按下它肚子上的按钮，然后取走食物，一旦你拿走食物，它会再次返回接待处。
The
voice of the robot was really beautiful. The robot doesn’t talk like
the voice on Google Maps. I don’t know how to put it in words but the
way the robot speaks is exactly like Human. It will use “err” “Ahaa” “oh
Ho” in between while it speaks. If you close your eyes and listen, you
will feel it is real woman talking to you. I really fell in love with
the voice.
机器人的声音特别好听，这个声音不像谷歌地图里面的声音，我不知道怎么怎么描述，但是这个声音特别像真人的声音。它会用儿话音，啊哈，哦等在说话的说话。如果你闭上眼听，你会感觉到是一个真人在对你讲话。我真的是爱上了这个声音。。。
I
spent the first 2 days in Chengdu just roaming around the city trying
different foods. The food in Chengdu is very spicy. This is the first
time the spice levels came very close to the South Indian spice levels. I
was sweating while eating and I really loved the food.
我在成都的头两天，只是在城里闲逛，试试各种食物。成都的食物很辣。这是我第一次在发现，成都的食物的香料风味和我老家印度南部的香料水平很接近。我真的非常喜欢这里的食物。
This is the best meat noodles ever。
这是有史以来我吃过的最好的面。
After
2 days, I decided to go to see the Pandas. In Chengdu everywhere you
will find Panda posters, Panda Pillows, Panda Key Chains, Panda T shirts
etc. You have to book ticket in advance to visit the “Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding”
两天后，我决定去看大熊猫，在成都你到处都可以看到大熊猫的海报，大熊猫枕头，大熊猫钥匙链，大熊猫T恤等，您必须提前订票才能参观“成都大熊猫繁育研究基地”
This
place is quiet far from city center. I think I paid 100 RMB for 1
ticket which is approximately 1200 INR. There is a shuttle bus from the
city center which will take you to the Park. I personally did not enjoy
this panda episode. There was a huge crowd at the Research center.
Literally people were brushing each other. You have to walk a long
distance like this and spotting a Panda was not very regular. I came out
in the middle and went back to city center. The Panda are just like
bear with different color. I couldn’t understand the craze people were
showing to see the panda. Just a doubt. If someone could enlighten me,
it would be great.
这个地方离市中心有点远，我花了100元买了一张票，相当1200卢比。市中心有一辆专车送你去公园。我不喜欢去这一段旅程，研究中心有很多人，人挤人的，要走很长一段楼，也不是那么容易就能看到熊猫，我提前回到市中心了，熊猫就是颜色不一样的熊。
我不理解人们对熊猫的狂热，如果有人能告诉我就太好了。
Though
I did not enjoy this Panda thing, one thing I would mention and again
repeat is, the INFRASTRUCTURE. The way they built the park was
excellent. Like for example, I mentioned you have to walk a long
distance. So the way you go and the way you come out is different. So
when you keep walking inside, you will see riddles and funny questions
about the Panda. But the answers are there when you keep walking out.
Also, they used more wood to build the place. You have wheel chair
access and super clean toilets. Lot of trees and you will also find a
quotes about animals by famous people.
虽然我不喜欢熊猫相关的东西，但是值得一提的是公园建设的非常棒。比如你要走很长一段路，进出的路是不同的，进去的时候你会看到关于熊猫的谜语和问题，出来的时候路上就有答案。还用了很多木材来建造这个地方，有轮椅通道和干净的厕所，很多的树，你会发现一些动物用名人来命名。
There
was a quote by Mahatma Gandhi also. I don’t remember exactly but it was
something like this- “The greatness of a country can be understood by
the way the country treats Animals”
也引用了甘地的一句话。具体记不清了，意思是“一个国家的伟大可以通过这个国家对待动物的方式来理解”。
Keeping
the panda aside, if there are very less people, you can simply even
take a walk along the park. It is so beautiful and calm.
把熊猫放一边，如果人很少，你可以沿着公园散步，非常的漂亮和平静。
In
China, one thing I noticed is, it is quite regular to find Chinese
people seeing you or giving a glance at you. They don’t stare at you,
but they give a glance. It is just that they are curious about you.
Especially someone like me who is dark and very different looking. (

在中国我会注意到一件事情，中国人经常会看你一眼或者瞥你一眼，但是他们不会盯着你看。只是他们对你很好奇，尤其是像我这样一个皮肤黝黑、长相迥异的人。（根据他们的说法）
China
has very strong censorship and therefore Chinese people are curious
about the other countries. Also, when compared to other parts of the
world, tourist coming to China is relatively less. Most people visit
Beijing and Shanghai. Not many travel to interior parts of China. India
is called ‘yeendu’ in Chinese Language. When I first landed in China, I
used to tell I’m from India. But they were unable to understand. Later I
realized they understand the Chinese name ‘yeendu’
中国有非常严格的审查制度，中国人对其它国家的人很好奇。此外与世界其他地区相比，来中国的游客相对较少。大多数人去北京和上海。去中国内地旅游的人不多。India在中文里面发音为 yeendu。我第一次到中国时，我说“I'm from India",他们不能理解。然后我意识到India(yeendier)在中文里面叫“yeendu”
I
asked few people about their opinion about India. Everyone said they
would want to visit India once. Few said India is pioneer in Medical
field and tough operations are performed by Indian Doctors. Few women
said they want to visit India but are afraid because they feel that
women are not safe in India. I met a guy in Wuhan who said he likes
Indian movies. He was struggling to recollect the name of the movie
about engineers. I asked him if it was 3 Idiots and he said YES 🙂
我问了一些人他们关于印度的看法。每个人都说想去一次印度。有少数人说印度的医疗领域领先，印度医生完成了很难的手术。少数人女性数他们想去印度，但是害怕不安全。我遇到一个武汉的说他喜欢印度电影。他想不起来那部关于工程师的电影的名字，我问题是不是《三个白痴》，他说是。
Chinese
people are aware that Indian people are one of their biggest customers.
They know most of the products we use are made in China. I went to
wholesale market in Chengdu. They were selling all branded Jeans and
other clothing at wholesale rates. Usually we think all these are fake
brands. But, all these big brands have their Manufactuing units in
China. Most of the brands famous in the west have their manufacturing
unit in China. One of the shopkeepers told me that they send huge stock
to Ahmedabad and Mumbai every month.
中国人知道印度是最大的客户之一。他们知道我们用的很多产品都是中国进口的。我去了成都的批发市场，。他们买各种品牌的牛仔裤和其它衣服。通常我们认为这是假冒品牌。但是这些大品牌的生产单位都在中国有厂。其中以为店主告诉我，他每个月都要卖大量的货物到印度西边的 艾哈迈达巴德和孟买。
I spent a week in Chengdu visiting other touristic places and then booked a flight to Wuhan.
我在成都花了一周，参观了其它旅游景点，然后订了去武汉的机票。
