【舍友考BEC，一道题是辨析这两个词的。我们都查了，结果越来越糊涂，感觉上determine更加正式，officially, 但decide又可表示有法律上的判决。总之它俩“决定和影响”程度上又乱七八糟了。求讲⊙﹏⊙】
这两个词汇都是常用词汇，有时互用，一般而言，（经过思考而）决定去做某事，倾向于用decide；（下决心）决定去做某事，倾向于用determine（较正式），如：1. After careful consideration, I decided to accept the job offer.仔细考虑之后，我决定接受这个工作。2. My friends’ support helped me to determine how I should proceed.朋友们的支持帮我决定了下一步该如何走。
我们再来看看美国总统奥巴马是怎么用这2个词汇的，如下例句（3至7）来自奥巴马的开学演讲We Are What We Learn.

英语词汇的层次表述十分丰富，“决定”一词，在英语里面常用的表述就有这么多！这也是为什么热衷背单词的同学最为头疼的原因，所以呢，仅仅是背单词是远远不够的，一定要做到“词不离句”，懂得它们的用法才行！
