辞职准备google的interview
Originally Answered: I decided to quit my job and spend at least 4000 hours to prepare for the Google interview. How should I get started?
Your grit and boldness in taking the plunge are much appreciated. Kudos to you for taking such a bold step!
However, 4000 hours of prep is a lot! That translates to almost 1-2 years, assuming you’ll spend about 40-50 hours per week prepping.
With the right approach, 12-14 weeks of prep is good enough. But, of course, you must have the right strategy to make the most of these weeks.
Here’s how you should go about it, ideally:
- Spend the first 3-4 weeks on core data structures and algorithms. Practice coding different types of algorithms, along with brushing up your knowledge of graphs, trees, greedy algorithms, and dynamic programming.
- Solve a minimum of 2-3 problems a day to get a good grip on your problem-solving skills. Expose yourself to problems with varying difficulty and classify them based on common solution patterns. This way, you’ll understand different approaches to problems, and that’s what recruiters dig.
- Work on improving your distributed systems design skills. Know the science behind developing scalable systems, network protocols, caching, and databases. Design rounds are mandatory in the on-site and have a veto in hiring decisions. If you’re new to design, find a good resource
- and spend at least a month preparing concepts in it.
- Sign up for an exhaustive interview-prep program that has a proven record of helping candidates land offers from big tech. The right course or program can not only help you significantly cut down on your prep time, but also take your readiness to the next level.
- Prepare for the behavioral interview. Behavioral rounds that usually happen during the on-site have a veto too. Taking this round lightly can prove costly. Spend at least two weeks going through resources that will help you nail this round.
- Make sure to update your LinkedIn profile (optimize it to include the right keywords) and your resume.
