Harry Potter fans all know that Lupin is a werewolf. In the third movie, Hermione Granger reveals the secret of the defense against the dark arts teacher. He almost hurt Harry, Hermione and Ron, but Snape and Sirius Black saved them.

What is not mentioned here, however, is that Fenrir Greybeck turned Lupin into a werewolf. In Half-Blood Prince, Lupin openly talked about this, revealing how the werewolf bit him when he was young.
