Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire focuses on the Triwizard Tournament, with the first appearances of Ralph Fiennes' version of Voldemort and Robert Pattinson's Cedric Diggory.

When David Tennant started playing Barty Crouch Jr., he was given the freedom as an actor to turn the wizard into his own character.

So David added some unique moves to his character, the most notable of which is his repeated licking of his lips like a snake. Neither the book nor the script for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire called for David to do this, but director Mike Newell loved the improvisation.

As the fake Moody spoke to Crouch Sr., Crouch recognized his son at once. However, Crouch Sr. was unable to disclose this information to the others because he died soon after.
