Gryffindor is known for its bravery, and is the house of the three main characters. The Harry Potter books preach the lesson of how important it is to be brave in the face of hard times over and over, and the bravest characters are almost always placed in Gryffindor.

Gryffindor's iconic animal is a lion, which is often associated with bravery. To top it off, proof that being brave is a Gryffindor house trait can be found in the artifact Harry used to defeat the Basilisk in The Chamber of Secrets — Godric Gryffindor's sword.

Gryffindors can often be incredibly likable individuals and one of the best Hogwarts house traits that best showcase why is their admirable sense of adventure which they often take into every aspect of life. To them, life is one big adventure to be relished and enjoyed.

Sirius Black and Ginny Weasley both demonstrated Gryffindor's willingness to challenge. Despite all warnings, Sirius would always join a fight in a heartbeat, rising up to whatever challenge was put before him.

Gryffindors are idealists, and behind their bravery are high moral standards. However, sometimes they can be too idealistic, which makes them do what they think is right, which brings harm to others.
