Everyone knows that Number 12 Grimmauld Place is Sirius's home. He even showed his family tree and mentioned that the place is "his mother's house".

But what is not specified in the movie is that Sirius lived in that house until he was 16 years old. His family is very concerned about the blood of the wizard. When he finally turned 16, Sirius had enough of them and moved out. Later, he was taken in by the Porters.

In the film, we see the villa compressed, as magically as the Leaky Cauldron's walls leading into Diagon Alley. Before the appearance of 12, we see buildings side by side, the numbers 11 and 13 closely joined together.
