Before Harry starts Hogwarts, his main opponent in life is Dudley. Spoiled rotten by Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, he is a cruel and unintelligent child who visibly dislikes his cousin both in the books and in the movies.

But after Harry saves him from Dementors in Order of the Phoenix, his attitude changed. In the final book, he shakes hands with Harry. The film cut this scene, and the audience won't be able to see Dudley change.

It's clear from the beginning that Percy is Harry's least favorite Weasley. Bossy, pompous, and uptight, he's very different from the rest of his family – and eventually abandons them all together to support the Ministry over Harry and the Order of the Phoenix.

Ron of the books and Ron of the movies are two very different people. While some of their traits are the same – such as their sense of humor and quick temper – the movies don't offer him as much development.

While early on in the books Ron often makes cruel remarks without thinking, he becomes more self-aware and conscientious with time.

The prime example is his attitude towards house-elves. Once dismissive of their rights, he wants to help them to safety as the Battle of Hogwarts begins.

This is a key moment in his and Hermione's relationship as it's this realization of his growth that makes her kiss him for the first time. It is a pity that the film does not show this plot.
