In the fifth Harry Potter film, The Order of the Phoenix, the death of Sirius Black left audiences devastated. Sirius dies the death he would have wanted, doing the right thing as he did for all his life.

Dolores Umbridge was so cruel and brutal. She imposed bloody and merciless sanctions on the students of the school and took pleasure in the suffering the students experienced. This is, without a doubt, the darkest moment in the film.

If it wasn’t for the intervention of Dobby the House Elf, Hermione would most likely have been killed.

Like the previous movie, the second part of Deathly Hallows was destined to be dark. It’s the moment where Harry Potter makes his final stand. Good and evil in the wizarding world meet in this decisive battle.

Hogwarts suffered heavy casualties, with beloved characters such as Fred, Lupin and Tonks dying. What few people may have noticed is that Ron's ex-girlfriend Lavender was mauled to death by the werewolf Fenrir Greyback.
