Mar 12, 1933
Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered his first "fireside chats" to the nation.

Today is
International Fanny Bag Day.
*Second Saturday in March.
Fanny bag is a funny word - not only funny but also weird in the English ears.

Fanny is American slang for ass or buttock.
A fanny bag is a waist bag, belt bag, moon bag, or belly bag.
It is called a bumbag in British English.
No one in the UK will ever call it a fanny bag. Not many will even say the word fanny.
Fanny is not a decent word in British English.

What fanny means in America:
The back bottom, the bum, the butt, the ass.
What fanny means in Britain:
The front bottom, the vagina, the pussy, the vaj.

On the other hand, bum is not a good word in American English either - a bum could be a vagabond, a drifter, or a floater.

But whatever the name, a fanny bag, or a bumbag, it is a small fabric pouch worn like a belt around the waist by use of a strap above the hips.

Today is also World Day Against Cyber Censorship, but I will not say anything.

Sun Yat-sen (/ˈsʌn ˌjætˈsɛn/), Chinese statesman, physician, political philosopher,  the first provisional President of the Republic of China and the first leader of the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party of China), died at age 59.

Rough translation of 天下为公:
The world is for the public. The world is for everyone.
出自《礼记·礼运》:“大道之行也,天下为公,选贤与能,讲信修睦,故人不独亲其亲,不独子其子,使老有所终,壮有所用,幼有所长,鳏寡孤独废疾者皆有所养;男有分,女有归。”
Quote of Today
