Today is
National Tea Day
(in the U.K., starting from 2016.)
The date (Apr 21) is also Queen Elizabeth's birthday - when else could it be more British, eh?
Below is a little poem I wrote this morning, drinking today’s first cup of tea my wife made for me.
Life is like a cuppa -
who said not?
Don’t know who invented it,
who made it happen,
how, and for what.
Life is like a cuppa -
who said not?
No need to think too much,
drink it slow,
pour in fresh water,
milk or sugar, like a Brit.
Life is like a cuppa -
who said not?
enjoy it by sipping,
from dawn till dusk
while you still can
and the tea is hot.
