每每到了年末就所有事情赶在一起，忙考试、忙工作、忙着生活。我们都知道，忙碌是 busy，不过你知道“busybody”是什么意思吗？
“busybody” 怎么理解？

busybody 可不是“大忙人”意思，而是 a person who is too interested in things that do not involve them，也就是“爱管闲事的人、多事者”。喜欢四处掺和，到处打听八卦的人，可不是天天都“忙忙碌碌”的嘛
🌰举个例子
Some interfering busybody had rung the police.
某个好事者打电话叫来了警察。
“interfering” 怎么理解？

形容某人“爱管闲事的”，你还可以用 interfering 这个单词。
An interfering person gets involved in other people's lives in an unwanted and annoying way.
一个爱管闲事的人会以一种令人讨厌的方式介入他人的生活。interfering 指已经做出了干扰或插手的事。
🌰举个例子
He's an interfering old busybody - who I go out with is none of his business!
他是个爱管闲事的老东西——我跟谁约会与他何干！
Interfering busybody 也算是双重强调了，语气更加强烈！另：interfere 是动词，意思是“干涉，干预”。
“nosy” 怎么理解？

如果一个人 too interested in what other people are doing and wanting to discover too much about them，那你就可以说他是个 nosy person。
nosy 就是指“好管闲事的；爱打听的”。
🌰举个例子
She was complaining about her nosy parents.
她在抱怨她父母爱管闲事。
“meddle” 怎么理解？

meddle 与 interfere 的意思相近，意思是“干涉，干预；管闲事”。
Try to change or have an influence on things that are not your responsibility, especially by criticizing in a damaging or annoying way.
尝试改变或影响那些跟你无关、不是你的责任的事，尤其是用那种破坏性极强或很烦人的挑剔指责的方式去干预。meddle的结果显然会造成一些不太好的影响。
常用的短语有“meddle in something” 和 “meddle with someone or something”。
当然，你也可以用 meddle+r=meddler 来指“爱管闲事的人”。
🌰举个例子
My sister's always meddling in other people's affairs.
我姐姐总是管别人的闲事。
People shouldn't meddle with things they don't understand.
自己不懂的事情，就不该去掺和。

A mother hen 并不是爱管闲事的人，而是保护者，是“关心他人的人” ，是 a person who looks out for the welfare of others, especially to a fussy, intrusive, or overprotective degree，关心他人幸福，只不过有时会有些过度挑剔、干涉，过度保护，就像一只战斗力爆表的保护小鸡的母鸡一样。
🌰举个例子
Jenny can be a bit of a mother hen when we're out at the bars. I wish she would just relax a little and let us have a good time!
我们去酒吧的时候，珍妮有点保护过度。我希望她能放松一点，让我们玩得嗨一点!
