busy是忙碌的，body是身体，但是busybody可不是“大忙人”意思，其实人家真正的意思是“爱管闲事的人”，我们看看它的英文解释：“If you refer to someone as a busybody, you are criticizing the way they interfere in other people's affairs.”
其实也不难理解“busybody”拆开看就是忙碌的身体，换句话说，就是特别喜欢掺和别人的生活，到处打听别人八卦的人，那可不是天天“忙忙碌碌”的那种嘛。

They thought she was an interfering busybody.
他们认为她很多管闲事。
再形象点来说，就像你过年回家，七大姑八大姨为你的事操碎了心！有对象吗？一个月工资多少啊？，这种人就是busybody
当然，形容词“interfering”也表示管闲事的：

按照惯例，我们先来看下它的英语解释：“If you describe someone as interfering, you are criticizing them because they try to get involved in other people's affairs or to give them advice, especially when the advice is not wanted.”，虽然有点长，但是却很好理解，就是表示“爱管闲事的”。

而“Interfering busybody”双重强调，比“busybody”的语气更加强烈，超级爱多管闲事的人！

英文词典里对mother hen的解释：“if you describe someone as a mother hen, you think they are interfering.”。
如果你形容某人是mother hen，你会认为他们爱管闲事。所以“mother hen”就是婆婆妈妈的人，爱管闲事的人。
