stick
1. stick 棍子：
lipstick 口红; walking stick 拐杖。
2. a stick of…一串:
a stick of beef 一串牛肉; 10 sticks of lamb 十串羊肉;
3. stick something on…把...粘上去:
Stick this poster on the wall 把海报粘到墙上;
4. stick something into/through 把...插进去:
stick the needle into my left arm 把针插进我左胳膊;
stick your hand into the fan 把手伸进风扇里;
5. stick around 留下来/呆一会:
You wanna stick around for a little bit? 你要不要再呆一会？
I’ll stick around for another 10 minutes. 我再呆个十分钟。
6. stick to something 坚持某事:
stick to it 坚持它;
stick to your plan. Don’t change all the time.坚持你的计划。不要一直变来变去。
I’ll stick to my old car. 我还是开我的旧车。
7.stick up for…去支持/辩护/保护...:
You gotta stick up for yourself.你必须得为自己辩护。
Thanks for sticking up for me. 谢谢你支持我/谢谢你为我说话。
8. stick together 团结一致:
Stick together and nothing can beat us. 只要我们团结一致就没有什么能打败我们。
9. stick with…跟...黏在一起/坚持:
I’m gonna stick with my original plan. 我要坚持我原来的计划。
10. stick with someone 和某人黏在一块:
Stick with me. Don’t get lost.跟紧我，别迷路了。
(be stuck with…困在某人身边: I don’t wanna be stuck with you for the rest of my life. 我不想下半辈子都跟你在一起/困在一起)
