This NYC neighborhood was just voted one of the most interesting places in the U.S.
Touring company Explore Worldwide just released the results of a new study looking at U.S. locations that are tagged the most in Wikipedia articles and then analyzing them against an “interest weighting score,” basically trying to answer the question: what are some of the most interesting destinations across the US?
Certainly not to our surprise, New York was ranked the most interesting city in the country but, perhaps a bit more fascinating is the fact that Gramercy Park has topped the city-specific list, with nearly 2,700 Wikipedia articles tagging it.
After all, not even all born and bred New Yorkers have access to the fenced-in, private park in the area.
One of the most expensive residential areas in all of New York, Gramercy Park was recently the site of an affordable housing lottery that left plenty of people wishing to live in the neighborhood, and for good reasons: apart from the hustle and bustle of commercial midtown but close enough to all major subway lines, Gramercy Park is home to a ton of exciting restaurants, shopping destinations, cultural pursuits and more. Who wouldn't want to live here?
The survey, which you can read through in full right here, also ranked the most interesting cities on a global level and, ladies and gentlemen, our very own New York landed on the top of that list as well. What a way to start our week.
Just in case you were contemplating a move, here is the global top ten list of most interesting towns as generated by the study:

1. New York, United States
2. London, United Kingdom
3. Tokyo, Japan
4. Washington, DC, United States
5. Toronto, Canada
6. Dhaka, Bangladesh
7. Hong Kong
8. Taipei, Taiwan
9. Singapore, Singapore
10. Longyearbyen, Svalbard and Jan Mayen
