任意补充，只要不改变中文意思，都算正确。比如：这些数字还是保守数字，这些数字还是保守估计，这些还是保守数字。都还行。

词汇：

结构：
Today’s vessels can find their prey using satellites and sonar（主句）, //which were not available 50 years ago（定语从句）.
译文：
现在的轮船可以使用卫星和声呐来找到猎物，而在50年前还没有这些技术。
翻译思路：定语从句的翻译
定语从句which后面用的是were，所以先行词肯定是复数名词，应该是指satellites and sonar。这个定语从句，翻译的时候，前置，后置，都可以。但是，我习惯把中文句子说短一点，采用了后置。
后置，单独成了一句话，本来直译“这些技术是50年前还不可以得到的”，“不可以得到”太难听，可以说“还没有，还不存在”等。
比如：这些技术是50年前还没有的。可以了。
再把顺序颠倒一下：而50年前还没有这些技术。通顺多了。
另外，sonar，我查了一下，用“声呐”，而不是“声纳”。
