1.锻炼 workout
 
英语中说到锻炼最常用的词是workout,指的是一组训练,连在一起写作名词,分开写作动词。
 
I've decided to start working out.
我决定开始健身了。
 
What's your workout routine going to be?
你每天的锻炼计划是什么?
 
常见的锻炼包括:
 
weight training 力量训练
aerobics 有氧运动
toning up 塑形
 
2.健康 fit
 
这里的fit指的是锻炼带来的形体上的健康、健美,可以说keep fit或stay fit,对应的,不健康就是unfit。
健康也可以用in shape, in good shape来表达,表示精神和身体都处于一种良好的状态,与之相对的是out of shape, in bad shape。
 
I walk and hike a lot to keep fit.
我经常走路徒步,保持健康。
 
I realised the other day that I'm incredibly out of shape.
我那天忽然意识到自己实在是太不健康了。
 

3.久坐的 sedentary
 
现代人最不健康的习惯之一就是“久坐”,英文是sedentary,而“久坐的工作”可以说a sedentary job,“久坐的生活方式”a sedentary lifestyle。
其他的不健康习惯还包括,常吃外卖(takeaway)、包装食品(packaged food)。
 
I think my lifestyle has got more and more sedentary.
我感觉我越来越久坐不动了。
 
I eat a lot of takeaways and packaged food.
我吃太多外卖和包装食品了。
 
4.健康饮食 on diet
 
on diet 可以表示为了减肥进行的节食,也可以表示为了健康采取的饮食习惯,比如戒糖、戒垃圾食品等,“戒”可以用stay off,表达“坚持”这种习惯可以用stick to。
 
I can never stick to a diet.
我很难坚持节食(或健康饮食)。
 
I'm trying to stay off junk food and fried food.
我正在努力戒掉垃圾食品和油炸食品。
 
5.不良嗜好 vice
 
vice指的是一种“恶行”,口语中用它来形容那些改不掉的坏习惯,比如嗜好咖啡,嗜好奶茶。甚至嗜好成瘾。另外表达特别偏好甜食,可以用固定搭配have a sweet tooth。
 
Coffee is my vice.
我太嗜好咖啡了。

Many people are guilty of wishing they could get a sculpted body from eating junk food and watching TV all day. But that is just not going to happen. Even though getting in shape sounds like a long, time-wasting process, the effort put towards being in shape has many positive effects. If you want to start your journey to having a better body to feel great, here are some tips.

Exercise daily for at least an hour. You do not have to kill yourself by running, jogging, etc., but you should have some sort of moderate physical activity in your everyday life. If you're looking to shed a few pounds fast, do a higher-level intensity workout. For example, go on a walk at a brisk pace for an hour. Or, you can jog and set certain intervals to sprint during that hour.
