今天在“美食”栏目中,我们来聊聊“火锅”,Let's talk about “Hotpot” in today’s program. 
【导读】
近日,明星餐饮又起波澜,陈赫和贤合庄火锅店又被推上了风口浪尖。原本可以开心轻松地吃火锅,但是在各种商业模式的加持下却变了味。今天我们一起来学习和火锅相关的话题。

场景:不吃辣的小王和吃辣的小张在讨论中华美食过程中因为吃辣引起了家乡美食之争,并差点上纲上线上升到地域歧视,见状,经常旅游见过识广的小赵拉上正在默默读书的小钱提议说晚上四人一起去吃“火锅”,小赵,又名尼古拉斯·赵四,有句名言:“没有什么是一顿火锅解决不了的,不行就两顿。”

Xiao Wang:The eggplant is too spicy. I can't stand any hot food.
小王:这茄子太辣了。我受不了这么辣的食物。
Xiao Zhang: You don't even try some good spicy food, though. Spicy food is good for sweating. I'm proud of my hometown. The peppercorns are the best. 
小张:但是,你是都没吃过好吃的辣食。吃辣利于排汗。我家乡的辣椒最棒,我为此感到骄傲。
Xiao Wang: Well, I just don't like it. Plain food is even better. The original flavor tastes natural and sweet sometimes. 
小王:嗯,我就是不喜欢吃。清淡多好。原味自然,有时候吃起来有点甜。
Xiao Zhao: Hey, let's go out for dinner. Sounds good?
小赵:嘿,我们晚上出去吃,如何?
Xiao Qian: Come on! I have a heavy workload. ....but, it's Okay to eat out. We haven't hanged out for a long time.
小钱:得了吧。我还有好多功课呢。但是,下馆子真好啊。好久没出去嗨了。
Xiao Zhao:What about Sichuan Hotpot? There's a good one near the supermarket.
小赵:四川火锅如何?超市旁有一家还不错。
Xiao Wang:It's great!
小王:棒极了。
Xiao Zhang:I’m hungry now!
小张:我都饿了。

【初级水平】基础练习 Conversation 2
场景:为了出去吃火锅,四人中午都没吃饭,等待了6小时后,终于到了晚饭饭点,在四川火锅店等了2小时后终于吃上了,这时已经是夜晚21:00。
Xiao Zhang: Alright. What types of broth do you prefer? 
小张:好,你们喜欢吃什么锅底?
Xiao Wang: I like plain food. No spicy. Okay? 
小王:务必清淡。不吃辣,好不好?
Xiao Zhao: What do you mean by broth? 
小赵:broth(汤底)是什么意思?
Xiao Zhang:In Sichuan, we usually have traditional base, oily spicy broth made of tallow(beef fat)but if you go for a non-spicy broth, it's clear. And you can go for a less spicy option too.
小张:在四川,人们常吃的是传统锅底,辣的红油锅,牛油锅底。但是,你喜欢吃清淡的,那就是白锅。也可以选择中辣的锅底。
Xiao Qian:I hate to make choices. It's hard for me.
小钱:我讨厌做决定,太难了。
Xiao Zhao:Well, shall we go for a Yuanyangguo, Mandarin ducks pot. Last time I traveled to Chongqing with my Dad, we tried it. It's good.
小赵:好吧,我们吃鸳鸯锅如何?上次我和我爸去重庆我就吃过,真不错(针不戳)。
Xiao Wang:Problem solved. Deal.
小王:好,问题解决了。就这么着吧。

【中级水平】Mini-talk 
场景:在吃火锅的时候,小赵讲起了他消除偏见,勇于尝试新事物的亲身经历。因此,小赵没有怎么吃上火锅食材,因为都被吃光了。不难发现,吃火锅是社交的一种形式,但是本质还是对美食的崇拜,因为这是生理反应。
 
For me, I used to like plain food as Xiao Wang. I thought plain food is the best in the world. But I went to Chongqing with my Dad last summer, it really opened my eyes.
对我来说,我曾经像小王一样喜欢清淡的食物。清淡食物是我以为世界上最好吃的食物。但是去年夏天我和爸爸去了重庆,这真的让我大开眼界。
Sichuan and Chongqing food are renowned for being spicy, oily and packed with plenty of numbing peppercorns. Most interestingly, when I went for a dipping sauce, it's offered with many options, like youdie(油碟)and gandie(干碟). 
川菜和重庆菜以麻辣、油腻和大量的花椒而闻名。最有趣的是,当我去弄蘸料时,它有很多选择,比如油碟和干碟。
I thought it was more than food itself. Professional hotpot restaurants have got hotpot down to a fine art. Why not just try some different things? .......Excuse me? Where are the raw materials?
我认为这已经超过食物本身了。专业的火锅店精于火锅此道。为什么不尝试一些不同的东西呢? 我的天? 刷料的食材呢?

Have you heard of the sensational news recently? “Good man” Chen. He's hot pot restaurant brand Xianhezhuang has a new report. 270 stores have closed down and franchisees have lost tens of millions. The request for refund the franchise fee is still fruitless, and it has been on the hot search. Incidents are exposed that the membership fees of consumers were frozen for no reason. It's debated over the internet whether Chen He should take this responsibility. 
你听说最近那个爆炸性消息了吗? “好男人”陈赫旗下的“贤合庄”火锅店有了新爆料。270家门店关闭,加盟商损失数千万。关于退款加盟费的请求还是无果而终,这条消息还冲上了热搜。消费者的会员费被无故冻结的事件被曝光。陈赫是否应该承担这个责任在网上引发了争论。
I think fast expansion triggers the hidden problem that low initial fees attract more attention, but the fan franchisees are under the illusion that stars' platform traffic will benefit the community, which turns out to be the empty streets.
 我认为快速的扩张引发了一个隐患,门槛低的加盟费吸引了更多人的关注,而粉丝加盟商们却误以为明星的平台流量会让社区(门店附近的区域)受益,结果是空荡荡的街道。
Are hotpot restaurants blessed with star halo really so profitable or they are just cutting leeks?
