①to step sideways to make a space for someone else
让开，闪开
例：
Stand aside, please, so the doctor can get through.
请靠边站，让医生过去。
②If you stand aside from something, you allow it to happen without
interfering in it or doing anything to prevent it.
如果你对某事stand aside，意思就是说你允许它发生，而不干涉它或做任何事情来阻止它。
例：
You can't just stand aside and watch your colleagues being treated like
that!
你不能眼睁睁地看着你同事被那样对待而只是袖手旁观!
