To me, today is also Independence From Meat Day.

Marie Curie, the Polish-French physicist and chemist, the
First Woman to Win a Nobel Prize, the only woman to win the ‘Nobel Prize’ twice,
and the only person to win the prize in two different scientific
fields died at age 66.
Both strangely and interestingly enough, several founding
fathers and politicians of the US died on this day in history. They are:
Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of the United States,
died on July 4, 1826
John Adams, the 2nd President of United States, died on July
4, 1826
James Monroe, the 5th President of the United States, died
on July 4, 1831
Hannibal Hamlin, the 15th Vice President of the U.S.A, died
on July 4, 1891
