靠调休“凑”出的春节小长假转瞬即过
尽管大家都对春节调休这项操作颇有怨言，但该学的英语可是一点儿也不能落下，你知道调休用英语怎么说吗？
调休在英文中没有完全对应的词，因此只要能表达出“调换工作时间和休息时间”的意思，就可以表达“调休”啦~

time off/ leave in lieu
lieu /lu/ 主要用作名词，作名词时译为“代替；场所”。
in lieu (of sth.) = instead of，是“代替”的意思。
They took cash in lieu of the prize they had won.
他们没有领奖品，而是领了现金。
time off in lieu 或者 leave in lieu，指的是公司给额外工作的员工放假，即“补休”。leave in lieu 可以理解为是替换的休假，也就是调休了。
Shall we go to a movie during my time off in lieu?
我们能在我调休的时候去看个电影吗？
想要表示具体调休几天用 xxx day(s) off in lieu，比如 two days off in lieu 表示两天的调休。
I would like to get one day off in lieu of the overtime I worked on weekends.
我在周末加班了，所以需要调休一天。

shift change
此处的 shift 指的是轮班、轮值，调休的意思等同于改变轮班的时间。
Can I ask for a shift change at work?
我能申请调休吗？

change one’s shift to get leave later
调休指的就是“原定休假的时间不休息，反而调换到另外的时间再休息”，所以也可以用这个短语来表达。
If you are in a hurry, you can change your shift to get leave later.
如果你赶时间，你可以调休。

compensatory time/
take compensation leave
翻译为补偿时间/作为补偿性质的休假，指的也是调休。compensatory 用形容词，意思是补偿的，它的名词形式就是 compensation。
I've got oodles of compensatory time.
我攒了很多调休时间。
I'm taking two days of compensation leave.
我这周调休两天。

enjoy due rest
due 表示“应有的，应得的”，due rest 深层的含义就是后期补上的由于某种原因取消的原定休假时间，所以也就是我们所说的“调休”。
Efforts should ensure that those who work during the holiday enjoy due overtime payments and rest under the relevant laws.
在法定节假日安排职工工作的，用人单位要依法支付加班工资或安排调休。

be marked as additional working days to compensate for the long holiday break
这是一个很长的表达，为了补上长假期而被标记成额外的工作日，这也是“调休”所表达的意思。
The Labor Day holiday will be extended to five days across the country, from April 29 to May 3. In the meantime, April 23 (Sunday) and May 6 (Saturday) will be marked as additional working days to compensate for the long holiday break.
明年劳动节4月29日至5月3日放假调休，假期延长至5天。4月23日（星期日）、5月6日（星期六）上班。
