最近C姐迷上了百香果，每天都来一个泡水喝。出于 occupational hazard（
），我突然发现我竟然不知道百香果的英文叫做什么。赶紧查了字典发现，百香果有个充满激情的名字，叫做：passion fruit 
。接着，C姐又多翻了几下字典，发现：菠萝蜜叫做 jackfruit；柚子的英文就叫 yuzu；soursop 原来是刺果番荔枝（啥？没吃过...）；木瓜除了叫做papaya，还可以叫pawpaw ......

fig 是“无花果”，无花果是人类已知最早种植的植物之一，not care/give a fig 是个老派的 idiom，毕竟现在都说 not give a f**k/shit（并不），意思是“对…丝毫不在乎；完全不把…放在心上”。
🌰举个例子
They can say what they like. I don't give a fig.
他们愿意说什么都行，我根本不在乎。
compare apples with oranges

apple 和 orange 算是我们最常见的水果之二了，英语中 to compare apples and/with oranges，也可以说是 to mix apples and/with oranges，或者是说 something is apples and oranges 都是一个意思，“两件事完全不同，把它们互相比较是不明智的”。
🌰举个例子
The ratio of exports to GDP is very misleading. It compares apples and oranges.
出口占国内生产总值的比例非常具有误导性。它们完全不能放一起比较。
You can't compare the new scores to the previous years. It's apples and oranges.
你不能将新成绩与前几年进行比较。它们简直天差地别。

说道“有其父/母，必有其子/女”，一般都会说like ，like ，用father、mother、son、daughter 进行排列组合。不过除此之外，也可以说 the apple doesn't fall far from the tree，落在离苹果树不远的苹果。

？peaches and cream 不只是一道甜点，还是个形容词，形容的是“白里透红的脸”，夸别人皮肤好就要用这个词嘛~ 🌰举个例子
She developed a peaches and cream complexion.
她有着完美无瑕的肤色。
I'd describe your skin tone as peaches and cream.
在我看来，你的肤色是白里透红的。
不过在美式英语的口语中，peaches and cream 还有“美好的，美妙的，完美的”的意思，这种用法与口语中的 peachy 或 a bowl of cherries 的意思相似，都指没有麻烦、没有问题的情况。
