不过这倒让我想起来英语中的一个习惯用语 eye candy，这个短语到底是什么意思？给眼睛看的糖？让我们来看看吧~

candy是一种能令人开心、心情愉悦的东西，“给眼睛看的糖果” eye candy 代表的是“华而不实的人（或物）”，someone or something that is attractive but not very interesting or useful.
🌰 举个例子
Most of the images on the website are not more than eye candy.
网页上大多数图片虽然吸引眼球，却毫无意义。
还有一个与eye candy很像的习惯用语：arm candy，指的是 a very attractive person taken by another person to a social event in order to impress other people，（在社交场合充当别人侣伴的）俊男美女。
candy+身体器官组成的习惯用语还有一个，是 candy-ass，这个词指的是 a person who is not brave，胆小鬼。

今天的第四个习惯用语也与小孩子有关：like a kid in a candy store “像个在糖果店的小孩”。这个短语的引申意思其实是指某人“对某件事十分兴奋，以致于行为显得孩子气”，这个短语主要在美国听到，

candy coat 的意思很容易猜测，正是“涂上糖衣”，to cover something with a thin hard layer of sugar.

I candy coated the nuts as they taste so much better that way.
我在坚果上涂了糖衣，因为这样吃起来味道更好。
除了“涂上糖衣”这个意思之外，candy coat还有另一层意思是“美化，粉饰”，to intentionally describe something in a way that makes it seem less unpleasant or less serious than it really is.

candy coat一般是美式英语中的用法，也可以写作candy-coat，而英式英语中一般使用sugarcoat或sugar-coat.
candy coat是动词，名词形式是candy coating/sugar coating，形容词则是candy-coated/sugarcoated.
