如果有人说要take you for a ride，在答应之前可要三思，因为take sb for a ride可不只有“带...去兜风，载...一程”这一个含义。
在英语口语中，take sb for a ride这个短语还可以用来指“欺骗某人；愚弄某人”，与deceive或cheat同义。

① string sb along
名词string我们都很熟悉，意思是“细绳；线；带”或者“一系列；一连串”，不过string sb along中的string明显是动词，string sb along的意思是“长期哄骗某人；敷衍某人”，不让被骗人知道你真正的目的，注意string sb along是指骗了一段时间。
She's been promising to pay back the money for six months, but I think she's just stringing me along.
她6个月来一直答应说要还钱，但我猜她只不过是在敷衍我而已。
② take advantage of sb/sth
这个词组我们都熟悉，指“占…的便宜；欺骗”，这是个贬义词，带有贬义感情。另外take advantage of sth也有“利用；利用…的机会”的意思，所以在翻译的时候要注意不同语境下的不同用含义。
I think she takes advantage of his good nature.
我认为她利用他善良的本性占他的便宜。
③ put one over on sb
这是口语中常用的表示“欺骗某人，哄骗某人”的说法，注意，这里的one可不能用其他的词代替哦。
He'd tried to put one over on the tax office and got found out.
他企图蒙骗税务局，但被查出来了。
④ pull a fast one
这同样也是一种口语用法，同样也与介词on搭配。所以如果有人pull a fast one，那意味着有人“ 在耍花招，在欺骗、耍弄人”；如果有人pull a fast one on you，那很有可能意味着你已经被骗了，有人成功的耍了你。
You paid too much - I think he pulled a fast one on you.
那个不值那么多钱，我觉得你上他的当了。
