因为特殊的疫情管控，我们被要求每天呆在自己的家里，足不出户，居住区被铁围栏封锁起来，家门被贴上了封条，我们不能自己出门去商店购买生活用品，唯一的途径就是网上购物，于是，产生了很多包装纸盒。作为艺术家，也被关在家里，不能去工作室工作。创作作品是艺术家的天性和本能，不能创作让人感到非常难受。我想到了用这些废弃的包装纸盒做作品，尽管这些包装盒本来应该会被扔掉，幸好家里还有一些水彩颜料和中国墨汁还有一只书画毛笔。于是，一批作品就这样诞生了。我对这些作品很满意，创作的过程很自由，很放松，是一种在画框画布上创作所没有的状态，是一种无拘无束的自由创作。我使用了一些之前在画布上没有想到过的方法，用刀割、用启子戳、用手撕、用火烧、也用到了我很久没有使用的毛笔。值得强调的是，我还用到了我的指甲，尽管它们是我用来弹吉他的。另外，这些作品几乎都是我趴在地板上完成的。我很难让这些作品归类，除了纸盒材质是它们的共同点外，其他部分都是很自由的，有的看起来像中国的水墨画，有的像抽象艺术，有的像表现主义，有的又像波普艺术，比如那些包装盒上本来就有的图案被我利用和改造。这些作品中的大部分，我尽量保持包装纸盒的原生态，保留它们的外观、图案、文字、条码单据、打包带，包括运输过程中损伤。这些作品和创造它们的过程，陪我度过了一段足够让人沮丧的时光，让我努力地活着，可能这就是这些作品最大的价值和意义。
Because of the special epidemic control in China, we are required to stay at home every day without leaving the house. The residential area is blocked by iron fences, and the door is sealed. We cannot go out to the store to buy daily necessities. The only way is to shop online, so there are many packaging cartons.
As an artist, I was also locked at home and could not work in the studio. Creating works is an artist's nature and instinct, and it is more painful to be unable to create than to die. I thought of making works with these discarded packaging boxes. Although these boxes should have been thrown away, fortunately, there are some watercolor paints, Chinese ink and a Chinese calligraphy and painting brush at home. Thus, a number of works were born.
I am very satisfied with these works. The creative process is very free and relaxed. It is a state of creation that is not available on the canvas. It is a free and unrestrained creation. I used some methods that I hadn't thought of on the canvas before, such as cutting with a knife, poking with a opener, tearing with hands, burning with fire, and using a Chinese brush that I hadn't used for a long time. It is worth emphasizing that I also used my nails, although they were used by me to play the guitar. In addition, I almost finished these works on the floor.
It's hard for me to classify these works. Apart from the common ground of the carton materials, other parts are very free. Some look like Chinese ink and wash paintings, some look like abstract art, some look like expressionism, and some look like pop art. For example, I use and transform the original patterns on those packaging boxes. For most of these works, I try my best to keep the original packaging paper boxes, their appearance, patterns, characters, barcode documents, packaging tapes, including damage during transportation. These works and the process of creating them have accompanied me through a period of enough depressing time to make me live hard, which may be the greatest value and significance of these works.
