The Twenty-Four Solar Terms in China represent a traditional timekeeping system based on the Earth's orbit around the sun. By dividing the ecliptic (the apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere as viewed from Earth) into 24 equal segments, each segment corresponds to a solar term, thereby reflecting seasonal changes, climate variations, and phenological characteristics.
Developed over centuries through meticulous observation of celestial phenomena, natural signs, and agricultural practices, these terms hold profound significance for farming activities, daily life routines, and festive customs across China and East Asia.
