从3月份以来，突如其来的新冠疫情奥密克戎毒株使得全国多个省市出现封城（lockdown）、居家隔离（quarantine）、停学（school closures, Schools were closed/shut down），商业停摆（closures of businesses）等情况，部分大城市出现生活物资紧张（supply chain issues)，人们就靠“团长”采购生活物资而活着，今天我们就梳理这个话题的相关词汇。

The policy deploys（部署）mass testing and strict quarantine measures to stamp out（扑灭） any outbreak of COVID-19 before it can spread.
该政策部署大规模检测和严格的隔离措施来消除在新冠疫情爆发之前进行预防。

同义替换
lockdown（封锁）
seal： ( of the police, army, etc. 警察、军队等 ) to prevent people from passing through a place 关闭；封闭；封锁
例：China’s northern province of Jilin has been sealed for weeks. 中国北部的吉林省已被封锁数周。
be closed off : to separate sth from other parts so that people cannot use it 隔离；封锁
例：Last month, the southern city of Shenzhen was closed off for several days. 上个月，南方城市深圳被封锁了几天。
被封锁的小区或者地区生活物资由政府配额物资来进行供给，but food ration can be sparse. （配额稀少），并未能满足日益增长的物资需求。
人们纷纷靠发起团购进行购买食品和生活用品
实用表达：
抢菜方式一：美团下单
1）Everyone woke up early to try and place grocery orders on Meituan.
每个人都起得很早，试图在美团网上订购货。
2）Residents have grown accustomed to waking up at 5 a.m. to launch grocery-delivery apps, repeatedly pressing refresh to get a delivery slot.
居民们已经习惯了早上5点起床，打开购物配送应用程序，反复按刷新键来获得配送时间。
slot n. a position, a time or an opportunity for sb/sth, for example in a list, a programme of events or a series of broadcasts （名单、日程安排或广播节目表中的）位置，时间，机会
抢菜方式二：团购
团购（group buying）：This strategy has seen neighbors team up to purchase bulk quantities of items, which are then delivered to residential compounds for distribution to individual households.
“团长：group buying leader。
居民团购：Residents have turned to informal community group buying.
团购要求居民拉微信群：This strategy requires neighbors to form groups on WeChat.
团长的负责下单、收钱、协调物流和分发：
Certain individuals are designated as the group leaders, or 团长 (tuánzhǎng), responsible for placing orders, collecting funds, coordinating logistics, and distributing goods once they arrive.
团长（群主）联系团购资源：The head of the group contacts the leader to purchase items.
参团者加群：Participants/Residents join the group.
参与群接龙，确定下单人数：Join group note, confirm the order quantity.
发起群收款：Initiate group collection.
志愿者配送货物：Volunteers deliver goods.
抢菜方式三：物物交换
古老的物物交换：age-old method: bartering
Some have resorted to（求助于） exchanging fruits for veggies or toilet-paper rolls for milk with their neighbors. 有些人与邻居用水果换蔬菜，用卫生纸换牛奶。

我们就我们学习到的词汇和句型，我们来创作一段口语表达。
My Shanghai-born cousin, Rina, shared what she experienced on the telephone during the zero Covid lockdown. At first, she was required to stay home and quarantined for 14 days. She was accustomed to waking up at 5 a.m. to launch grocery-delivery apps, repeatedly pressing refresh to get a delivery slot. How lucky she was to buy some food online and asked Blue Helmets(用蓝色头盔代替饿了吗的外卖小哥） to deliver some to her parents nearby.
我在上海出生的表姐瑞娜在电话里和我分享了她在封锁期间的经历。起初，她被要求呆在家里并隔离14天。她习惯早上5点起床，打开食品杂货配送应用程序，反复按刷新键来获取配送时间。她是多么幸运，能在网上买到一些食物，并让外卖小哥们给她附近的父母送一些食物。
She lived in an old residential area in Yangpu District. She couldn't find a group leader to join the Wechat group for group buying. But instead, both she and her parents tried to mainly live on rice and eggs and some veggies.
她住在杨浦区的一个老住宅区。她找不到团长加入微信团购。但相反，她和她的父母都试图主要靠米饭、鸡蛋和一些蔬菜果腹。
Her parents, my aunt and uncle, even were confined to a small house and what's worse, they couldn't handle mobile apps for food delivery, but they resorted to bartering eggplants for potatoes with their neihgbours.
她的父母，也就是我的姨妈和姨夫，甚至被限制在一个小房子里（自己家），更糟糕的是，他们不会用手机应用程序下单购买食品，但他们只能和邻居们用茄子换土豆。
My 70 year-old uncle joked, “It’s Okay to live with sparse food, but I'm afraid we couldn't even walk after the lockdown.”
我70岁的姨夫开玩笑说:“吃得少还行，但我担心封锁后我们甚至不能走路。”
