米尔斯在爱尔兰铁路公司工作，是一名资深的财务经理。他每周只有三天需要到岗工作，其余两天在家工作，即使人在办公室也无事可做。每天上午10点他不紧不慢地来到岗位上，一边看报一边咀嚼着自己的三明治。吃完午饭休息散步，下午两点半或三点左右才回到工作岗位。如果没什么事，他就回家了。

loaf on the job
loaf作动词指“游手好闲；无所事事；闲荡”的意思，在工作时游手好闲就可以用loaf on the job。
➤例句：
He is busy loafing on the job.
他上班很“忙”，忙着摸鱼。
goof off at work
goof off同样有“游手好闲; 无所事事”的意思。
➤例句：
Setting aside time to goof off at work can relieve stress.
上班时留点时间摸鱼能减轻压力。
slack off at work
slack有“懈怠，偷懒”的意思，指的是“没那么努力地工作”（to work less hard than you usually do or should do），我们常常说的“躺平”就可以用slack off。

如何愉快地摸鱼（不被发现）？
People who feel their work lacks meaning are more likely to slack off.
感觉自己工作没意义的人更容易躺平。
cyberloaf / cyberslack
loaf和slack前面加了一个cyber（网络的），指的就是“用公司的网做与工作无关的事”。“摸鱼的人”可以用cyberloafer / cyberslacker。
➤例句：
I cyberloaf even when I'm extremely busy, which means I often work at weekends to catch up.
上班特别忙的时候我也在摸鱼，所以我经常在周末赶工。
The job is so boring that I started cyberslacking by browsing weibo.
工作太无聊了，我只好上上微博摸个鱼。
It might be long-term helpful for employers to allow a little bit of slacking and cyberloafing.
