口语积累

rock
说某事或某人rock，就是称赞其“极好，棒极了”。
➤例句：
Her new movie rocks!
她的新电影棒极了！
You rock!
你酷毙了（你太厉害了）
kill
跟rock类似的词有kill，表示“干得漂亮”。
➤例句：
You killed it! The show was incredible.
你干得太漂亮了！演出太了不起了。
smart
“聪明的”，也指“衣着得体的，打扮讲究的”。几个表示“聪明的”词意思很相近，我们来区分下：
intelligent：思考和分析能力强的
smart：有intelligent的意思，但没那么正式，同时可以表示在各方面都比较灵通，不仅仅是学习思考能力强
clever：指人（更常指动物比如狗）能想出方法来解决问题
wise：指人的“知识丰富，有智慧”，常指长者。
➤例句：
That wasn't a very smart thing to do.
这么做不太明智。
She is a highly intelligent child.
她是一个头脑非常聪明的孩子。
sharp
夸人聪明还可以用sharp，表示“敏锐的，机敏的”。
➤例句：
Jane is a girl of sharp intelligence.
简是一个非常聪颖的女孩。
resourceful
resource是“资源”的意思，resourceful就用来形容一个人“足智多谋、想法多、主意多”（good at finding ways of doing things and solving problems）。
➤例句：
You can do it. I know you are a resourceful person.
你能做到。我知道你是一个足智多谋的人。
hard-working
形容“努力的”，可以是“努力学习的”，也可以是“努力工作的”。与hard-working类似的词还有industrious和diligent，都表示“勤奋的，认真刻苦的”。
➤例句：
Our students have to be very hardworking and committed.
我们的学生必须非常努力学习，尽心尽力。
apply
apply除了“申请，应用”的意思，它还可以表示“勤奋工作，努力学习”（to work at something or study something very hard），常见搭配是：apply yourself，后面也可以加上to sth。
➤例句：
You will only pass your exams if you really apply yourself (to your work).
你只有全力以赴，考试才能及格。
entitled
entitle表示“使享有权利”，entitled指的就是“感觉自己应该享受特权的”，用来形容一个人自以为是，也可以说self-entitled。
➤例句：
He got mad because I kept interrupting him, what an entitled baby!
我不停打断他他就疯了，真是一个自以为是的巨婴！
complacent
自满的；自鸣得意的，类似的表达还有self-satisfied。
➤例句：
He is too complacent to make changes.
他太自满了，不愿做出任何改变。
