Hey, Jimmy. Welcome to my family to celebrate one of the most important festivals in China. Dragon Boat Festival customs can be divided into two categories. One is to worship the national hero, Qu Yuan. Another aims to fend off evils and keep people healthy.
嗨,吉米。欢迎到我家来庆祝中国最重要的节日之一。端午节的习俗可分为两类。一是纪念民族英雄屈原。另一个目的是避瘟驱毒和保持健康。
First of all, Zongzi are the most traditional Dragon Boat Festival food. Every family would make sticky rice dumplings and eat them.
Secondly, the Dragon Boat Festival is held at the start of summer when diseases are more prevalent. People usually hang Chinese Mugwort and calamus on doors lintels to discourage diseases.
Thirdly, as the old saying goes: Drinking realgar wine drives diseases and evils away.
首先，粽子是端午节最传统的食物。家家户户都会用糯米包粽子吃。
其次，端午节是在立夏的时候，疾病比较多。人们通常在门楣上挂艾草来驱毒。
第三，俗话说：喝雄黄酒可以驱除疾病和邪恶。
“Jimmy, have a bite of zongzi stuffed with meat. This is my favorite. And drink some wine!”
Jimmy：“Sorry, I was born in the year of Snake. ”
“吉米，吃一口肉粽。这是我的最爱。再喝点酒！”
Jimmy说，“抱歉啊，我是属蛇的。 ”
【高级水平】：Joke 笑话
场景：
坐在一旁吃饭的爷爷一直不说话，但是保持着微笑，突然，在Jimmy尴尬之际，爷爷用英语说话了：Do you know how to greet people on Dragon Boat Festival？（你知道在端午节如何问好吗？）
大家七嘴八舌地说到：Happy Dragon Boat Festival！（端午快乐！）
爷爷摇摇头说，应该是：Safe and Healthy Dragon Boat Festival（端午安康）. And you know why? 你知道为什么吗？
此时此刻，Nobody answered. He continued, "Because the fifth month is known as the month of posion because the five poisonous creatures, centipedes, scorpions, snakes, toads, and geckos begin to emerge. Jimmy was born in the year of Snake. So, that's why he can't drink this wine. （因为每年五月被认为“五毒”开始孽生之月，蜈蚣、蝎子、蛇、蟾蜍和壁虎。吉米属蛇，所以不能喝雄黄酒。）端午安康Safe and Healthy Dragon Boat Festival就和这个传说有关了。
Jimmy这时候问道：So, what should I drink?（我到底喝啥？)爷爷逗乐笑道：You can drink the “northwestern wind”. （你喝西北风吧。）
Everybody laughed except Jimmy. 每个人都乐了，只有吉米被凉在那儿。
