If a story in the news has legs, it will continue for a long time.
如果新闻中的某个故事“ has legs”，说明这个故事还会有很长时间的后续。
也就是说， have legs 的意思是“未完待续；对某事的后续报道还将持续较长时间”。
🌰举个例子 This latest scandal has legs - you'll probably still be reading about it in a year's time.
最近的丑闻还有下文。也许近一年内，你还会读到其后续报道。
If something has legs, it can continue to exist and be successful.
如果某东西“has legs”，它会持续很久并很成功。

01、 give sb a leg up
give sb a leg up 除了本意（在爬墙时）“帮助（某人）爬过去”之外，也可以指“to help someone to improve their situation, especially at work”，帮忙提高现状，特别是在工作中帮一把。

shake a leg
第一眼看到这个短语，是不是以为它是“晃晃腿，摇摇腿”的意思？其实不然，shake a leg 实际上是说“快点儿，抓紧点儿”，相当于 hurry up 和 get a move on。不过shake a leg 是非正式用语，一般用在熟人、朋友之间。

not have a leg to stand on
not have a leg to stand on 和 without a leg to stand on 的意思是相同的，两种说法都可以，意思是 to be in a situation in which you cannot prove something，“没有依据，无法证明”。
🌰举个例子 If you have no witnesses, you don't have a leg to stand on.
如果没有证人，你就无法证明。
