loop表示“圈子”，"out of the loop"，它属于非正式用语，我们用它来描述“不了解、不知道某圈子内的最新消息和状况”。和它的含义相反的说法是“in the loop 消息灵通的，圈内的”。

【例句】

I've been out of the loop. I didn't realize Wendy and Bob had got engaged. 我真是毫不知情（脱节了）。我不知道温迪和鲍勃订婚了。
Oh, gosh. I've been so wrapped up in work these days. Feeling a bit out of the loop now. 噢天哪，这些天我一直忙于工作，感觉有点（信息）脱节了。
