求！
🚩request是指“有礼貌地正式请求，要求”。柯林斯有两条解释，分别表明它有两种搭配方式：If you request something, you ask for it politely or formally.，即request可以是“要求某物”，直接跟宾语，搭配request something (from/of someone)；If you request someone to do something, you politely or formally ask them to do it.，即request可以“要求某人做某事”，搭配request someone to do something.。request用法正式庄重，可以是口头的、书面的请求，要注意request如果跟that从句，要用should再跟动词原形，或者可以直接省略should只用动词原形。

request compliance with the rules, eg on a notice 请遵守规则（如告示用语）
She had requested that the door to her room be left open.她要求不要关闭通向她房间的门。
All I requested of you was that you came early. 我只要求你早点来。
Students are requested to park at the rear of the Department.
学生必须把车停在该系后面。
🚩plead是“强烈地再三地请求，恳求”，牛津词典的解释比较容易辨析，是make repeated urgent requests (to someone) (for something)。它习惯搭配plead with someone for something，或者plead with someone to do something。
如：
plead for mercy 祈求发慈悲
He pleaded with his parents for a more understanding attitude. 他求父母多加谅解。
She pleaded with him not to leave her alone. 她恳求他不要留下她一个人。
The boy pleaded to be allowed to ride on the tractor. 那男孩请求让他坐坐拖拉机。
🚩beg是“卑微的乞求，焦急不安地乞求”，柯林斯解释为If you beg someone to do something, you ask them very anxiously or eagerly to do it.。它习惯搭配beg something of someone，或者beg (of) someone to do something。
如：
I begged him to come back to England with me... 我恳求他和我一起回英格兰。
I begged to be allowed to leave... 我请求允许我离开。
He begged mercy (of the king). 他祈求（国王）宽恕。
He begged for forgiveness. 他请求原谅。
🚩implore比beg程度要稍微重一点，是“哀求”，用法比较文雅。柯林斯解释为If you implore someone to do something, you ask them to do it in a forceful, emotional way.。它习惯搭配implore someone for something，或者implore some to do something。
如：
Opposition leaders this week implored the president to break the deadlock...反对党领袖本周恳求总统打破僵局。
🚩require是“命令，规定，要求必须做到…”，柯林斯解释为If a law or rule requires you to do something, you have to do it.，它的主语常常是法律或者规定等方面的词，当然也可以是人。用法很正式。
如：
The rules also require employers to provide safety training... 这些规定还要求雇主提供安全培训。
It is required (of me) that I give evidence. 要求我提供证据。
Civil Servants are required to sign the Official Secrets Act. 公务员须签署遵守公务保密条例。
The law now requires that parents serve on the committees that plan and evaluate school programs... 现在，法律要求家长在规划和评估学校项目的委员会中任职。
🚩ask是最常用的词，柯林斯的解释很详细，它的搭配方式和含义分别是：
要求…[做…]，请求…做…；If you ask someone to do something, you tell them that you want them to do it.
要求[做…]，请求做…：If you ask to do something, you tell someone that you want to do it.
索要，请求，恳求给予：If you ask for something, you say that you would like it.
求见：If you ask for someone, you say that you would like to speak to them.
请求，征求许可、意见、谅解：If you ask someone's permission, opinion, or forgiveness, you try to obtain it by putting a request to them.
邀请，约请：If you ask someone to an event or place, you invite them to go there.
要价，索价：If someone is asking a particular price for something, they are selling it for that price.
