我们之前看过draw的一个动词含义：to pull or direct something in a particular direction，抽出，拿出。
它也可以用作名词，表示the act of choosing something, for example, the winner of a prize or the teams who play each other in a competition, from a group without knowing which one you are choosing，随机抽奖，或者体育比赛决定分组的抽签，美式英语里写作drawing。
常见的促销活动抽奖、公司年会抽奖等英语可以说prize draw/drawing。
参与抽奖:
sb enters a prize draw/drawing
sb is entered into a prize draw/drawing
例：Download this app and enter the prize draw for a trip to Paris!
下载App，参与抽奖，赢取巴黎之旅！
例：Customers who spend over $50 today will be entered into a prize drawing for a brand-new laptop.

·2. raffle·
raffle /'ræfl/ 名词，表示a way of making money for a particular project or organization. People buy tickets with numbers on them and some of these numbers are later chosen to win prizes.
raffle一般指为某个项目、机构或慈善活动筹钱而发起的抽奖，规模不大，需要人们花钱买抽奖券 (raffle ticket) 才能参与，奖品通常不是钱，而是礼品物品之类的奖励。
raffle也可以用作动词，raffle sth或者raffle sth off表示to offer something as a prize in a raffle，把某物作为抽奖的奖品。
例：The school organized a raffle to raise money for the new library. One lucky student won a new bike.
学校组织了一次抽奖活动，为新图书馆筹集资金。一位幸运的学生赢得了一辆新自行车。
例：We bought a raffle ticket for $2 and won a beautiful handmade scarf.
我们花2美元买了一张抽奖券，抽到了一条漂亮的手织围巾。

lottery /'lɒtəri/ 名词，a way of raising money for a government, charity, etc. by selling tickets that have different numbers on them that people have chosen. Numbers are then chosen by chance and the people who have those numbers on their tickets win prizes.
lottery是我们熟悉的大型彩票抽奖，比如福彩，体彩，需要购买彩票 (lottery ticket) 才能参与。
raffle规模小，参与人数少，而且总有人能中奖，因为它是在卖出去的/固定范围的号码里抽，而lottery规模大，先销售再摇号，有时候开出来的号没人买到，所以不是每期都有人中大奖。
例：Many people dream of quitting their jobs after winning the lottery.
很多人都梦想着中了彩票后辞职。
例：She bought a lottery ticket for $2 and won the $1 million jackpot.
她花2美元买了一张彩票，结果中了头奖100万美元。jackpot /'dʒækpɒt/ /'dʒækpɑːt/ 名词，a large amount of money that is the most valuable prize in a game of chance，彩票之类的纯靠运气的游戏中的头奖。
