·1. stall·
/stɔːl/ 名词，表示a table or small shop with an open front that people sell things from, especially at a market，用桌子摆的摊，或者菜市场很常见的那种商品摆在店前的摊位。
例：I picked up some fresh strawberries from a fruit stall at the farmers' market.
我在农贸市场的水果摊上买了一些新鲜草莓。pick sth up可以表示to buy something, especially cheaply or by chance，偶然看到就买了，或者买到了比较便宜的东西。
例：I grabbed a bunch of roses from a flower stall.
我在花摊上买了一束玫瑰花。
例：The souvenir stalls by the beach had beautiful seashell necklaces.
沙滩边上的纪念品摊有漂亮的贝壳项链。
·2. stand·
/stænd/ 名词，表示a small shop or stall or an area where products can be shown, usually outside or in a large public building, at which people can buy things or get information，在户外或大型公共建筑里边卖东西的小店，小摊位，会展的小展位也可以叫stand。
例：I picked up a magazine at a newsstand by the train station.
我在火车站旁的报刊亭买了本杂志。
例：I got a sandwich from a stand outside the subway station on my way to work.
上班路上我在地铁站外的一个小店买了一个三明治。
例：The company's stand at the exhibition attracted many visitors.
公司在展会上的展台吸引了很多参观的人。
·3. cart·
/kɑː(r)t/ 名词，以前指a vehicle with no roof that is pulled by a horse and used for carrying heavy things，由马拖着的货车，载货马车。
现在超市的购物车也叫cart，延伸到网购的购物车也叫cart，高铁和飞机上乘务员推着送饮料小吃盒饭的推车也是cart。
food cart指移动小吃摊，有轮子的，由人推着/拖着或者是套着车，地铁口之类的人流量大的地方很常见。
例：The flight attendant pushed a cart down the aisle, offering drinks to passengers.
空姐在过道上推着推车为乘客提供饮料。注意aisle读音/aɪl/。
例：I bought roasted chestnuts from a food cart at the park entrance.
我在公园入口处的小吃摊上买了烤板栗。
例：There are food carts selling roasted sweet potatoes near the underground station.
地铁站附近有卖烤红薯的小摊。
还有一种food truck/food van，一整辆的小吃车，比较大，里边可以有厨房，在国内好像没有food carts那么常见，我只在景区见过food trucks。
·4. street vendor·
vendor /'vendə(r)/ 名词，表示a person who sells things, for example food or newspapers, usually outside on the street，路边摆摊卖东西的人。
街边摊贩不管是有stall、stand、cart，还是铺一块布在地上摆摊的都可以叫street vendor。可以加上具体卖的东西，flower vendor，fruit vendor。
这个表达很好用，像推着自行车卖气球、在路边摆一筐橙子之类的一些“摊子”找不到对应的英文表达，可以用street vendor，buy sth from a street vendor，从路边摆摊的人那儿买东西。
例：I got these earrings from a street vendor at the night market.
这对耳环是我在夜市上从一个小摊贩那里买的。
例：I like buying fruits from street vendors. It's cheaper than at the stores.
我喜欢在路边摊买水果。比店里便宜多了。
例：There was a street vendor selling watermelons outside the subway station.
地铁站外有个路边摊在卖西瓜。
