1. I'm terrible at saving money. I don't buy things on sale. I don't use coupons. I don't budget.
我完全不会省钱。我不在打折的时候买东西，不用优惠券，花钱没计划。
这个句子背下来。
其中最直白的表达“省钱”就是save money。on sale有两个意思，一个是“在出售”，另一个就是“在打折”，这里用的是第二个意思。打折还可以用discount。
➤例句：
I bought the shoes at a 25% discount.
我这双鞋75折买的。
coupon指的是“票券”，有各种各样的“票券”：
a 10% off coupon 9折券
a ￥5 money-off coupon 减5元券
a two-for-one coupon 买一送一券
budget是“预算，制定开支计划”的意思，也可以说make a budget。
➤例句：
I make a budget for each week, so I decide how much I can spend and what I can spend money on.
我每周制定开支计划，所以我会决定要花多少以及花在哪里。
2. I'm saving up for a holiday next year.
我正在为了明年的假期攒钱。
这个句子背下来。
“攒钱，存钱”也可以用save up，与save相比，save up一般是带有明确目的的攒钱。
➤例句：
It took me months to save up enough money to go traveling.
我花了好几个月才攒够钱去旅游。
表达“省钱”，还可以用stretch one's money/dollar，或stretch a/every dollar，stretch原本指“拉伸”，所以stretch one's money/dollar指的就是“一分钱掰成两半花”。
➤例句：
I'm trying to stretch my dollars since I just lost my job.
我刚丢了工作，现在一分钱掰成两半花。
“节俭的”可以还可以用frugal，注意下，这两个词都是中性的，没有贬义。
➤例句：
She lives a frugal life.
她过着俭朴的生活。
形容一个人极度节省，可以用penny-pincher，penny-pincher也可以用作贬义，表示“吝啬鬼”，也可以是中性的。
➤例句：
It was when I was completely broke in college that I became something of a penny pincher.
大学时我穷得叮当响，成了一毛不拔的人。
3. I'm not a big spender, but I really enjoy splashing out and treating myself occasionally.
我不是大手大脚花钱的人，但是我也很享受偶尔挥霍一下，对自己好点。
这个句子背下来。
big spender就是“大手大脚花钱的人”，splash out指的是“挥霍”，还可以用splurge。
➤例句：
After using such a crappy laptop for so many years, I decided to splurge on a really fancy desktop setup.
用了这么多年破笔记本，我决定花血本买一个奢华的台式机。
“挥霍”还可以说spend money like water，对应到中文中就是“花钱如流水”。
➤例句：
Now that he's got a steady job, he spends money like water.
现在他有了一份稳定工作，花钱如流水。
4. I can barely make ends meet.
我几乎入不敷出。
这个句子背下来。
make ends meet就是“收支相抵；量入为出”的意思。你还可以用struggle来表达：
He's struggling to pay the rent.
他付房租都很困难。
另一个类似的词是get by：
I don't earn a lot, but I get by.
我挣得不多，但够花了。
5. He has four credit cards, all maxed out.
他有四张信用卡，都刷爆了。
这个句子背下来。
max out表达的是“到达一个顶点”。
➤例句：
The car maxed out at 150 mph.
