Let's talk about Fake News in our today's program.

How did you spend the weekend? According to “Life Times”, a study published in the journal “Sleep Medicine” by scientists at Yonsei University in South Korea found that sleeping in late on weekends can significantly reduce the risk of depression. According to the report, the research team recruited 5,500 volunteers with insomnia problems during workdays and followed up with them. The results showed that taking 8 hours of sleep per night as a standard for normal adults, an hour of sleep in on weekends can reduce the risk of depression by about 30%; people who sleep an extra two hours may reduce the risk of depression by 48%. But if you slept in for more than two hours, the risk of depression increased by 16 percent.
Of course, in the comments of netizens, some said that this gave a reasonable reason for laziness, but there were also points of view that the biological clock has been formed for a long time, and sometimes I can’t sleep even if I want to sleep, and more time is wasted in lying in bed and brushing my mobile phone…
sleep in late(睡懒觉)和 weekend catch-up sleep(周末补觉)

She has become internationally famous and now earns around $40 million a year.
It’s well-known that one of the world’s most famous authors went from being a single mother in a cold water flat to the beloved and acclaimed author who created the magical world of Harry Potter.
In the past few years, J.K. Rowling has spoken about the difficult time in her life when she was depressed, even considering suicide.
During an interview with a student journalist in 2008, Rowling revealed that she had suicidal thoughts while she was a single mother struggling to get her work published.
“Small Steps, Big Changes.
I would like to make it clear, in parenthesis, that I do not blame my parents for their point of view. There is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction; the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you. What is more, I cannot criticise my parents for hoping that I would never experience poverty. They had been poor themselves, and I have since been poor, and I quite agree with them that it is not an ennobling experience. Poverty entails fear, and stress, and sometimes depression; it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships. Climbing out of poverty by your own efforts, that is indeed something on which to pride yourself, but poverty itself is romanticised only by fools.
What I feared most for myself at your age was not poverty, but failure.

Does sleeping in late on weekends make you feel good? According to People’s Daily, sleeping in late on weekends can cut off the risk of depression in half. But after I read the journal, I came to realize that this piece of news was fake. It is weekend catch-up sleep that reduces the risk of depression. From this point, we are easily deluded(欺骗).
People tend to love stories, but not stories behind them. For example, my son is a huge fan of Harry Potter. He reads books and plays Harry Potter mobile games. But he doesn't know anything about the story creator—JK Rowling.
Do you know what happened to her before Harry Potter series got published? He shakes his head. After he reads a story about JK Rowling, he soon changes his attitude towards everything he has about Harry Potter.
JK Rowling was a single mother, living in a cold water flat. She often wrote in a cafe with a cup of coffee while taking care of her baby. She took a suitcase of Harry Potter stories to many publishers, but she was rejected by 12 different publishers. She did have a difficult time struggling to get her work published, during which she even had suicidal thoughts because she was depressed.
The first book in the series, finished in 1995, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was published 2 years later, in 1997 and became an unexpected bestseller.
When she addressed to Harvard in 2008, the 42 year-old lady talked about her family and the benefits of failure. I still remember what she said in the speech, “Poverty entails fear, and stress, and sometimes depression; it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships.” Yes, of course, Rowling's life has changed dramatically, but what drove her to the international fame is the moment she's old enough to take the wheel without parents' steering in the wrong direction, because she knows what responsibility means.
