bank这个词可太熟悉了，走在路上看到的各家银行，英文名缩写中的B都是它。
ICBC 中国工商银行（Industrial and Commercial Bank of China）
CCB 中国建设银行（China Construction Bank）
BOC 中国银行（Bank of China）
ABC 中国农业银行（Agricultural Bank of China）
但是上图的bank，很明显不是指银行。究竟是什么意思呢，我们先来看看它的几个“僻义”。
1. 库、库存
【牛津释义】an amount of sth that is collected; a place where sth is stored ready for use
不妨联想下，储存钱的“库房”是银行，那储存题目的test bank就叫题库；储存血液的blood bank是血库，储存能量/电量power bank是充电宝。a bank of knowledge 知识宝库
2.岸、河畔
【牛津释义】the side of a river, canal , etc. and the land near it
例句：It's on the north bank of the Thames. 它位于泰晤士河北岸。
除了做名词外，bank还能做动词，表示“把钱存入银行”，比如：
She is believed to have banked￡20 million in two years. 据信她两年内在银行存了2000万英镑。
或者表示“堆积”，
They banked the earth (up) into a mound. 他们把土堆成一个土丘。
动词短语bank on相当于是rely on，表示“依靠；指望”，比如，
I'm banking on your help. 我还得靠你帮助呢。
