“果然,我就知道”用英语怎么说?




 
-01- I knew it.
“我就知道”,简单直接,口语里用。know在这里用过去式因为表达在事情发生前就知道,是过去的事情。
So she broke the window? I knew it. She looked so nervous when I asked her about it.
所以窗户是她打破的?我就知道,我问她的时候她很紧张。
John asked Jenny out? I knew it! He always lights up when she's around. It was only a matter of time.
约翰约珍妮出去玩?我就知道!每次她在的时候他都很开心,我就知道他迟早会约她出去。
-02- That's no surprise/not surprising.
I'm not surprised.
That doesn't surprise me.
unsurprisingly
unsurprisingly比较适合书面用,其他几个口语里用很自然。
He can't find the car key? No surprise there, he always forgets things.
他找不到车钥匙了?不奇怪,他总是丢三落四。
You didn't pass the exam? I'm not surprised. You didn't study.
你考试没过?意料之中。你都没复习。要加一点嘲讽或者打趣语气,也可以说Why am I not surprised?
She got a promotion. That doesn't surprise me. She's been working hard.
她升职了,意料之中的事,她一直很努力。
Unsurprisingly, they failed to meet their target again.
不出所料,他们又没完成目标。
-03- That/It figures.
美式英语口语表达,used to say that something that happens is expected or typical, especially something bad,表示某件事情的发生是很自然,预料中的,尤其指不好的事。口语里可以省略说成“figures”。
The boss gave us another project with an impossible deadline. Figures. It's like he enjoys making things harder for us.
老板又给了我们一个截止时间很离谱的项目,我就知道,他好像特别喜欢让我们不好过。
They didn't send the confirmation email. It figures. They never do.
他们没发确认邮件。我猜也是。他们从来不发的。
-04- I thought so.
That's what I thought.
Just as I thought.
She was just joking about extending the holiday? I thought so. It was too good to be true.
她说延长假期只是开玩笑的?我想也是。这么好的事怎么可能是真的。
They got a divorce a month later? That's what I thought. I knew they wouldn't last long.
他们一个月后就离婚了?果不其然。我当时就知道他们不会长久。
He canceled the trip? Just as I thought. He never sticks to his plans.
他取消行程了?意料之中,他从来不按计划来的。
-05- as expected
That's what I expected.
He kept bringing up work at the barbecue, as expected. He's always the buzzkill when we're trying to have fun.
烧烤的时候他果然一直提工作的事。每次我们玩得开心的时候他老是扫兴。
Dad chewed you out? That's what I expected. I told you to be home by 10.
老爸骂你啦?我就知道。都和你说了10点前回家。
-06- sure enough
固定短语,表示as expected,和预料的一样。
He said he wasn't coming to the party, and sure enough, he didn't.
他说了不来参加派对,果然没来。
Sure enough, the train was delayed again.
火车果然又晚点了。
-07- predictable
as predicted
predictably
predict /prɪˈdɪkt/ 动词,表示“预测”。predictable形容词,“可以预测的;和预料的一样的”,predictably副词,表示as expected。这三个表达比其他说法书面一点。
The client wants us to work overtime today to finish the report? So predictable.
客户要我们今天加班把报告做完?我就知道会这样。
As predicted, the tickets sold out the moment they went on sale.
不出所料,票一开售就卖光了。
Predictably, the sales went up when we ran a buy-one-get-one-free promotion. Who doesn't love a good deal?
果然,我们做买一送一促销时销量就上来了。实惠的东西谁不喜欢?
