/tʃiːp/ 形容词，美式非正式口语里用，表示not liking to spend money，不喜欢花钱。英式英语里用mean。
cheap经常形容东西廉价，所以用它来形容人比较难听，形容某人为了省钱什么都不讲究，买什么都只考虑价格不考虑质量，不顾礼仪和体面，没有基本的生活品质追求。
You can tell she's cheap when she asks for a ride every single time you're heading somewhere.

/'stɪndʒi/ 形容词，用于非正式语境，表示not willing to spend money，不乐意花钱，一分钱都要计较，不愿意与人分享，不一定是钱，也可以是别的东西。搭配介词with, be stingy with sth，吝啬给予/分享某物。

别那么小气，爆米花给我吃一点！
I didn't realize how stingy she was until she actually charged me rent for crashing on her sofa for one night.
我在她家睡一晚沙发，她问我要房租，我才知道原来她这么小气。crash在口语里可以表示to stay at someone's house for the night，在某人家过夜。

·03· miserly
miser /'maɪzə(r)/ 名词，表示a person who loves money and hates spending it，非常爱钱、存着钱不舍得花的人，守财奴。
miserly /'maɪzə(r)li/ 形容词，表示hating to spend money，厌恶花钱的，守财奴一样的，这一篇这个单词的抠门程度最高。
How is she so miserly? She's got money but acts like she's broke every time we go out!
她怎么跟个守财奴一样？明明有钱，但每次我们出去玩，她都表现得像破产了一样！

·04· penny-pinching
penny /'peni/ 表示“便士”，是英国以前的硬币，pinch /pɪntʃ/ 动词，表示用拇指和食指紧紧地捏、掐。
两个单词构成形容词penny-pinching /'peni pɪntʃɪŋ/，表示unwilling to spend money, extremely careful with money，过度节俭，非常不舍得花钱，一分钱都不肯撒手。
He's penny-pinching enough to walk five kilometers to avoid paying the bus fare.
他抠门到愿意步行五公里来省公交费。
They are so penny-pinching that they never buy gifts. They just give away what they don't want anymore.

·05· tight-fisted
tight紧的”，fist“拳头”，tight-fisted /taɪtˈfɪstɪd/ 形容词，表示unwilling to part with money，紧握着钱不松手，不愿意花钱。
She's so tight-fisted; she won't even buy a cup of coffee for someone who's been helping her all day.
她真小气，人家帮了她一天，她连给人买杯咖啡都舍不得。
He's tight-fisted to the point where he always orders the cheapest thing on the menu, even on a date.
